- $7/mo for 1,000 subscribers emailed weekly (4,000 sends)
- Unlimited contact storage — the model Flodesk just moved away from
- Advanced segmentation, behavioural targeting and a built-in CRM
- Transactional email on the same account
The unlimited plan is gone. The per-subscriber bill is not.
Flodesk built its following on one flat price for unlimited subscribers. That plan was retired on 2 December 2025 for new customers, and the replacement scales with list size like everyone else's — from $25 a month up to $177.
- Unlimited plan retired 2 December 2025 for new customers
- $25–$177/mo depending on subscriber count
- Branding removal requires Pro; checkouts require Everything
- No transactional email, no CRM, limited segmentation
Flodesk retired its unlimited plan for new subscribers on 2 December 2025 and now prices by subscriber count: Lite from $25 a month at 1,000 subscribers, Pro from $28, and Everything from $54, rising to about $177 at larger list sizes. Customers who subscribed before that date keep the legacy unlimited plan while their subscription runs. Bluey prices by emails sent, so 1,000 subscribers emailed weekly — 4,000 sends — is $7 a month on Spark. Flodesk's template design is genuinely lovely and its checkout tools suit creators selling digital products; Bluey wins on cost, segmentation depth, and having a CRM and transactional email in the same place.
The boring details, side by side.
Three things that come up in every conversation.
The reason people chose Flodesk has been withdrawn
Flat, unlimited-subscriber pricing was the pitch. New customers now pay by list size, which puts Flodesk in the same category as everything it used to be the alternative to.
Segmentation is where design-led tools run out
Flodesk is deliberately simple, and that simplicity has a ceiling. When you want to email people who clicked but did not buy, differently from people who bought twice, you need behavioural segmentation rather than tags.
Receipts and access emails need somewhere to live
If you sell anything, you send transactional email. Flodesk does not, so that is another provider. Bluey sends both from one account.
When Flodesk is the better choice.
Flodesk is genuinely good at the thing it optimises for, and for some people that is the whole job.
If you are on the legacy plan, stay on it. If you are pricing Flodesk fresh in 2026, you are comparing two per-list-size products — and at that point cost and capability both point elsewhere.

Did Flodesk end its unlimited plan?
For new customers, yes — on 2 December 2025 Flodesk moved to subscriber-based pricing across Lite, Pro and Everything. Anyone who subscribed to a paid plan before that date keeps the legacy unlimited plan for as long as they maintain the subscription.
Is Bluey cheaper than Flodesk?
On current Flodesk pricing, yes. 1,000 subscribers emailed weekly is 4,000 sends — inside Bluey's $7 Spark tier — against $25 a month on Flodesk Lite. If you hold a legacy Flodesk unlimited plan, Flodesk is likely cheaper and you should keep it.
Does Flodesk have better templates?
For design-led brands, generally yes. Flodesk's templates are its whole reputation and they are excellent. Bluey's composer is brand-aware and flexible but does not set out to win on aesthetics — it sets out to be capable underneath.
Can I sell digital products on Bluey?
Through your own Stripe account, with landing pages and gated segments in Bluey. Flodesk's Everything plan has a native checkout, which is simpler if you want the platform to handle the transaction. The trade-off is that with your own Stripe, nobody takes a cut of the sale.
Does Flodesk send transactional email?
No. Receipts, password resets and product-access emails need a separate transactional provider. Bluey includes transactional sending on the same account from $4 a month.
Pricing verified 4 September 2026 against each provider’s public pricing page. Bluey figures use the Grow plan (send-based). Competitor tiers shift at least quarterly; figures marked “~” are interpolated between published tiers.
