Coming soon — not available yet

The Salesforce connector is on the roadmap and is not built yet, so nothing on this page can be set up today. It describes what the integration will do when it ships. In the meantime you can connect Salesforce through Zapier, viaSocket, or webhooks and the REST API. Note that polling-based automation can lag by up to fifteen minutes, which matters for time-critical flows such as cart recovery.

CRM

Salesforce stays the record. Bluey does the sending.

Two-way sync between Salesforce leads and contacts and Bluey, with opportunity-stage triggers — so marketing can send without waiting on Marketing Cloud.

Typical setup: 15 minutes · No developer required · Connecting a store never raises your bill

In short

The Salesforce integration syncs leads and contacts two ways between Salesforce and Bluey, maps standard and custom fields, and turns opportunity stage changes into email triggers. Engagement writes back to the Salesforce activity timeline so reps see the marketing history on the record. Teams usually set this up to run lifecycle email without buying Marketing Cloud, or to give a sales-led organisation a marketing motion its CRM licence does not cover. Setup takes about fifteen minutes and needs a Salesforce admin for the field mapping.

What actually syncs

The specifics, so you can tell before you connect anything whether the flows you want are possible.

DataDirectionNotes
Leads & contactsTwo-wayMatched on email. Lead conversion is respected, so a converted lead does not become a duplicate contact in Bluey.
Standard & custom fieldsTwo-wayPer-field direction and conflict rules, so sales-owned fields are never overwritten by marketing activity.
Opportunity stagesInto BlueyStage changes become triggers, letting a marketing sequence respond to real pipeline movement rather than to a date.
Campaign membershipTwo-waySalesforce campaigns map to Bluey segments, so attribution reporting stays intact.
Email engagementOut of BlueySends, opens, clicks and unsubscribes appear on the Salesforce activity timeline.
Opt-out statusTwo-waySalesforce's Email Opt Out field and Bluey's suppression list stay aligned in both directions.

What you can build once it is connected

Opportunity stage changePipeline-stage nurtureDifferent content for a deal in discovery than for one in negotiation, driven by the stage the rep actually set.
Lead createdSpeed-to-lead sequenceRespond within minutes rather than the next working day. Response speed is one of the few reliably measurable levers on lead conversion.
Closed-lostLong-cycle re-engagementFor enterprise cycles where the buying window reopens in six or twelve months, and nobody remembers to check.
Lead score thresholdMQL handoffBehavioural scoring in Bluey, notification and task creation in Salesforce, marketing sequences paused so sales owns the conversation.
No activity in 6 monthsDatabase hygieneRe-engage dormant records, then suppress. A large stale Salesforce database is the most common source of the bounces and complaints that damage a sending reputation.

Setting it up — about 15 minutes

  1. 1In Bluey, open Integrations and choose Salesforce
  2. 2Authorise with a Salesforce user that has API access enabled
  3. 3Map standard and custom fields, setting direction per field
  4. 4Decide which object drives the sync — leads, contacts, or both
  5. 5Configure opportunity-stage triggers for the stages you actually want to act on
  6. 6Test with a sandbox or a small record set before enabling the full sync

What this integration does not do

Worth knowing before you build a plan around it.

  • Salesforce API call limits apply and vary by edition. Large initial syncs are batched, and a very large org should schedule the first sync deliberately.
  • Accounts, cases and custom objects are not synced — lead and contact level only.
  • Person Accounts need explicit mapping rather than working out of the box.
  • This does not replace Marketing Cloud's journey builder for very complex multi-channel orchestration.

Salesforce integration FAQ

Do I need Marketing Cloud as well?

For most sales-led teams, no. Bluey covers lifecycle email, segmentation and automation against Salesforce data. Marketing Cloud earns its cost when you need genuinely complex multi-channel journey orchestration across email, SMS, ads and app — if that is your requirement, keep it.

Will this consume my Salesforce API calls?

Yes — any integration does. The sync batches updates rather than making a call per record, but the initial historical sync is the heaviest moment. If your org is already close to its daily API limit, schedule the first sync for a quiet period.

Can I trigger email from opportunity stages?

Yes. Stage changes flow into Bluey as events, so a deal moving to 'proposal sent' or sitting too long in one stage can start a sequence. This is usually more useful than time-based nurture because it reflects what is actually happening in the deal.

How are leads and contacts handled differently?

You choose which objects to sync. Most teams sync both and let Bluey match on email address, respecting Salesforce's lead conversion so a converted lead does not appear twice. Deciding this before the first sync avoids duplicates that are tedious to unpick afterwards.

Does opt-out sync in both directions?

Yes. Salesforce's Email Opt Out field and Bluey's suppression list stay aligned both ways. Verify it with a test record before going live — an opt-out that only travels one way is a compliance exposure, not just an inconvenience.
